2014 High School Performance Lists - Boys
For a quick explanation of how the statistics are used, please
read the brief explanation of
Track
& Field Statistics. There you can find out such things as why a 49.4
handheld 400 meter time is actually slower than a 49.50 fully automatic time or
why a time listed here is not the same exactly the same as listed in the meet
results.
Because coaches and meet directors usually record hand times in
100's (which is against the rules) and don't report what kind of timing they
used, it's possible some times are converted improperly. All times are
considered hand times unless confirmed from the meet director since sometimes
even coaches aren't told that hand timing is used. Also, because almost no
meets use wind gauges, wind-aided mark are included on this list alongside
wind-legal marks. Hand times are not accepted for the 100, 200, 110/100 hurdles,
and the 4x100 relay.

Undoubtedly some deserving athletes have been left off. Some may
have been missed because some coaches didn't report meet results. With thousands of marks to go over each week and hundreds of
marks to be included here, I welcome any additions and/or corrections sent to phil@texastrack.com
or faxed to 888-448-3603. To include marks in a meet that has not been reported,
I need a copy of the complete meet results. Remember the FAT timing rule for
some sprints.
